Georgetown is going to have to pay up. The Hoyas need to ensure that Thompson is one of the highest-paid coaches in the Big East. He has earned the right to renegotiate. If the Hoyas go cheap (which would be foolish and seems unlikely), his moving on at some point isn't a stretch. If he stays, the school should simply name everything around the hoops facilities "John Thompson" and let the family name rule.
