Worst. Loss. Ever.

I had a bad feeling about this one. I was walking around all day saying that I thought we would lose. USF is a team that played a lot of good teams very tight, but still hadn't won a game in the Big East. Walking into their home court tonight was just a disaster waiting to happen.

Did anyone listen to the game on the radio? What in the hell happened?

We played terribly. Everyone on the team was awful. SFU played about as well as they can. BTW: This is actually the worst loss ever in GU history (or at least since the advent of the RPI). But you are right. SFU, as bad as they are RPI wise, is not nearly that bad. They played us and Nova and a couple of other very good teams to a one possession finish. That said, this probably drops us from a 5 seed to a 10 seed. Our RPI has gone from 25 to 45. Just devastating. We could concievably miss the tourney if we lose in the first round of the BET.

Prediction - Following this pitiful loss, GU will either lose in the first round (and be sent to NIT land) or win the BE tourney. I think it'll take 2 wins to make the dance.

Well, Lunardi still has us as a 7 seed, which makes me feel a little better. I think if we get two wins we are back up to a 6. One probably keeps us a 7 or 8. A loss puts us on the bubble -- 11 or 12 seed probably.

Hopefully Georgetown will pick up its performance in the BE tournament and then raise the bar even further once the NCAA tournament begins.

Let's just say that the way Georgetown has finished the last two seasons has been underwhelming to say the least. In fact, if we keep this up, we may become known as the Greg Norman of college basketball (and you know how this pains me to even write that).

however, despite the norman-like end of year results last year, the last year have seen good BE play from GU.
