Victor Page

Interesting yet sad article. It does put a positive spin on his life though.

I was just about to post the same article. A colleague of mind (who is now a reader of our blog) pointed it out to me.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I tend to forget how good Victor was. He definitely was rough around the edges, and he definitely had a tendency to make dumb mistakes (a la Bad Brandon), but he also put up some very respectable numbers during his tenure.

I wish the best for him.

I agree. The guy's not the sharpest tool in the shed. But, if I were to pick my all GU team, he'd be on it. The dude was a warrior on the court and had no fear (problem was sometimes not the wisest playing credo).

95-96 had one of the best 1-2 punches in "The Answer" & Page.

The most troubling part of the article (and something we knew already) is that he was arrested for cocaine possession BEFORE he entered GU. JTII claimed that he didn't know about this but I think that is hard to believe. In any event, I hope JTIII is smart enough to steer clear of such recruits in the future. I liked Victor but, at the end of the day, I'm not sure he was worth the risk.
