Well, yes and no. Davis is incorrect in identifying Ivo and White as McD's AAs. They weren't. That said Ivo was top 10 and White was top 40 so that's pretty good for the same class. Our last AA was Anothy Perry (aka El Busto). His recruiting class, which also featured Ruben and Kenny Brunner, was our last top 10 class. So this will be our first in almost a decade. It is important that JTIII seems intent on not expending a single scholly any player who isn't BE starter caliber. Part of the problem in the '90s was that JTII would bring in some Daymond Jacksons or Rhese Gibsons or Boubcar Aws -- completely untouted recruits -- to play backup. When Perry fizzled or Brunner went psycho we were left in the lurch. JTIII seems intent on not making the same mistake.
I would agree. It does seem that JTIII is intent on compiling a recruiting class full of starters & guys who will compete with the older players for starting spots whereas in pop's later years, the team was compiled of backup caliber players with the rare exception. having said that, with the caliber of players coming in, hopefully egos can be checked at the door and they can work together.

From what I've been reading since the first week he was hired, JTIII is a total workaholic, like his Dad was early on. In the off-season he goes to so many games and meets with so many recruits he's on everyone's list. It give him an opportunity to be choosy when it actually comes to offering schollies. He's actually had a number of "official" campus visits from high schoolers who never recieved scholarship offers. Time and again in articles current players also talk about how hard he (and the staff) works. But this was my favorite part: "Georgetown is just about the hottest thing going right now," Hargrave coach Kevin Keatts said. "It's an exciting time up there, if you look at what's going on with that program. They're on the fast track back to glory, and Vernon wanted to be part of that."
