Greener Pa$ture$

Saw this AM that both Green & Hibbert are entering the draft, but without agents. While I'm personally not thrilled to see both declare for the draft (would have been great if JT3 could have shared pops 4 year tradition), I suppose the lack of hiring an agent is a nice compromise. I would have to think that the lack of an agent was somewhat the influence of JT - test the waters but not closing the door to a possible NCAA tittle. My money says Green comes back & Hibbert is gone.

The Washington Post story on Saturday was actually pretty encouraging, at least with respect to Roy, who indicated that he would use the pre-draft workouts as a way to find out what areas of his game he needed to improve and then decide if he wanted to leave. So we'll see. Can we send NBA scouts video of Jeff and Roy from the Nova game from January and clips of Jeff against Ohio State?

And here's the most interesting thing I've read yet, from Barker Davis in the Washington Times on Saturday:

Given the sudden defections, it would not be a surprise if Thompson makes a late charge at top-10 prep center Anthony McClain. A lifelong Georgetown fan, the 6-11, 220-pound standout at National Christian Academy (Fort Washington) was a virtual Georgetown lock before the team's frontcourt glut prompted him to switch his recruiting focus to Connecticut and Cincinnati. If McClain gets his academics in order, Georgetown would be a natural fit for the national top-50 recruit and one of the few blue-chip big men still unsigned.

Joshua,

Just wanted to thank you for your insightful comments and the news on McClain. I had not read this--thanks for bringing it to our attention!
